Role: MDM Technical Lead

Location: New York (Hybrid)

Duration: 8-12 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, business-focused technologist to lead the Client Master Data Management (MDM) solution supporting institutional and wealth management channels. This role involves designing and delivering digital products that manage organizational and contact data across multiple distribution channels.

The ideal candidate will have deep functional and technical expertise in MDM and experience within the asset or wealth management domain. This role requires an innovative mindset, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of the Client Master MDM platform covering institutional and wealth management data domains.
• Collaborate with data stewards, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, business-aligned data solutions.
• Analyze master data, identify patterns and trends, and provide recommendations to improve business processes and decision-making.
• Define and implement MDM best practices, including data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
• Develop and maintain applications using Semarchy MDM or similar tools (Informatica, Reltio, SAP MDG, etc.).
• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines in the cloud (Azure) using tools like ADF, DBT, FiveTran, and Snowflake to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Work with market and reference data relevant to capital markets or investment management.
• Provide leadership, strategic planning, and technical oversight to the engineering team.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable data solutions.
• Communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts clearly.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10 years of relevant experience in data engineering, MDM implementation, or data management leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of MDM principles, architectures, and technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Semarchy MDM or equivalent platforms.
• Proven experience with cloud data engineering (Azure preferred).
• Exposure to data modeling, warehousing, governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience in capital markets or investment management is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver mission-critical solutions under tight timelines.
• Strong analytical mindset and high attention to quality and performance.
