Responsibilities
- Plans and directs food preparation and Managing Inventory
- Modifies menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
- Purchases and orders food supplies while managing budget
- Ensures the overall cleanliness of your kitchen meets and exceeds Last Chance Texaco's health and equipment cleaning standards
- Makes periodic and regular inspections of units to observe quality of food preparation and service; food appearance; and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment, and employee appearance.
- Coordinates all training activities for kitchen, and other production and service employees, including the identification and analysis of training needs and the design and implementation of programs to address these deficiencies.
- Follows proper training manual procedures for equipment item requests. Properly filling out the document and submitting it to your superior before house submission.
- Maintains a pleasant appearance and always be in clean clothes
- Minimum work week of 40-50 hours.
- Receives trucks and check for quantity and quality
- Maintains positive and professional working relationships with all vendors, directs, and clients, always.
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production.
- Oversee menu planning, ensuring a variety of innovative dishes that meet guest expectations and dietary requirements.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, maintaining stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective cost control measures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures, health regulations, and sanitation standards across all kitchen operations.
- Coordinate food preparation and presentation for various service types including fine dining, catering events, banquets, and special functions.
- Supervise food handling practices to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene.
- Oversee shift management, including scheduling staff, managing labor costs, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions.
- Maintain a positive team environment by providing leadership, mentorship, and training opportunities for staff development.
- Ensure all food service activities align with hospitality standards while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Experience
- Food Manager Certification Certified
- Extensive banquet experience along with catering expertise.
- Supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or restaurant setting is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in food production, menu planning, and kitchen management.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and inventory control techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices.
- Experience managing teams as a chef within the food industry or restaurant management roles.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Previous experience in hospitality settings that emphasize excellent service standards including serving and bartending skills is highly desirable.
