We are a growing underground utilities contractor looking for a dependable, hardworking Yard Assistant / Material Support Technician to help keep our construction yard organized, stocked, and running efficiently.
This position works directly under our Yard & Delivery Coordinator and plays a key role in supporting daily operations. While deliveries are part of the job, the primary focus is maintaining yard organization, preparing materials for crews, and assisting with equipment and inventory management.
This is a yard-first, driving-second position.

Primary Focus (What This Job Is Really About)
- Supporting daily yard operations and organization
- Assisting with material preparation for field crews
- Keeping tools, equipment, and materials organized and accessible
- Helping ensure deliveries, inventory, and staging activities run smoothly
- Working alongside the Yard & Delivery Coordinator to maintain an efficient operation
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing yard materials including pipe, fittings, couplers, tools, and equipment
- Pull and stage materials for upcoming jobs
- Help load trucks and trailers for daily crew needs
- Make local deliveries to job sites as needed
- Receive and unload incoming material shipments
- Label, organize, and store materials in designated locations
- Assist with inventory counts and material tracking
- Operate forklifts and yard equipment safely
- Help maintain cleanliness throughout the yard, storage areas, and shop
- Assist with fueling, cleaning, and basic upkeep of vehicles and equipment
- Report damaged, missing, or low-stock materials to the Yard & Delivery Coordinator
- Help secure and close the yard at the end of the workday
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Experience working in construction, landscaping, utilities, warehousing, or similar environments
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of tools and construction equipment
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions while maintaining productivity independently
- Willingness to learn underground utility materials and construction operations

Compensation & Benefits
- $24-$28 per hour, depending on experience
