What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide - Per Diem position at LASELL VILLAGE INC?
POSITION SUMMARY: To provide consistent, prompt service of all culinary items that are served to Lasell House and Lasell Studio residents. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of all menu items and dietary needs for Lasell Studios and Skilled Nursing residents
- Responsible for select food ordering for Lasell House and Lasell Studios resident special dietary needs and functions
- Keep proper par levels in Lasell House and Lasell Studios
- Responsible for ensuring the residents of Lasell House and Lasell Studios receive the proper food items according to their menus and dietary needs
- Responsible for advising supervisor of shortages and outages
- Competent knowledge of the Mealtracker Software
- Rotation, labeling, and dating of relevant stock in the refrigerator and freezer to ensure no waste due to spoilage
- Perform work assignments to meet proper quantities of food while maintaining quality standards within a necessary time frame
- Practice sanitary methods as prescribed by Federal and state codes in storage of all food and paper supplies
- Ensure all work stations are being maintained in a clean and organized fashion
- Properly store and rotate all pertinent food orders received that are kept in the storage areas and ensure that the storage areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly
- Responsible for preparation of functions for Lasell House and Lasell Studios
- Follow tray line procedures
- Delivery of meals in a timely manner and return meal trays to the kitchen
- Maintain meal delivery trucks- clean after each meal service
- End of the night bring meal trucks to the basement
- End of day snack prep and delivery. Check with supervisor to see what is available for proper snacks based on dietary needs.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- ServSafe certification a plus

- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- May need to reach overhead, handle objects, use finger dexterity, talk, hear, see, and feel
- May need to move, transport or position objects up to 50 pounds

- May need to ascend/descend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist
- May need to work in an environment with noise, vibrations and occasional fumes
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
- Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, post-disaster, etc.)
- ls subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from air contaminants.
