Commissary Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver commissary goods to detainees
• Satisfactorily perform duties alone on the housing units/floors for periods of time;
• Competently operate Commissary equipment including software and ordering system;
• Transport goods from the receiving dock to the assigned location or Commissary shelf storage facility
• Assist with taking weekly counts of all inventory;
• Maintain a clean storage area and use proper trash containers.
• Handle situations that require prompt attention and/or action and immediately report issues;
• Retain, follow, and implement general information and detailed instructions

Educations and Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• All applicants must clear a federal background check, e-QIP (where applicable), before offers are final.
• No Criminal Record – No Arrests
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning experience. Preferably with a commissary, retail sales, or inventory management background or (1) year full-time, wage-earning correctional custody or law enforcement experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Move at a speed that is required to respond to work situations (e. g., run, walk, jog).
• Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print). Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects).
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.

Pay: $20.71 per hour
