Position Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and servicing of a portfolio of employee benefits clients, ranging from small to mid-sized employers. This role involves addressing both routine and complex client issues while delivering a high level of service and strategic guidance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and service an assigned book of employee benefits clients, developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients regarding employee benefit programs and related issues.
- Coordinate internal resources and carrier partners to address client service needs and resolve issues.
- Assist in the retention of existing clients and support efforts to expand relationships through additional services or coverage offerings.
- Cultivate relationships with HR managers, senior leadership, and other key client stakeholders.
- Coordinate tasks and assignments with internal administrative and support staff to ensure efficient client service delivery.
- Assist clients with complex or escalated issues, including claims and carrier related matters.
- Keep clients informed regarding regulatory and compliance matters, including, but not limited to, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, and HIPAA.
- Support senior leadership, including the Assistant Vice President, with client initiatives and service deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation of client meeting materials, including agendas, renewal timelines, and benefit analysis documentation.
- Utilize Microsoft 365 applications, Excel, ZyWave, and various carrier and benefits administration platforms.
- Participate in additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the firm and its clients.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Assistant Vice President-Employee Benefits.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in employee benefits account management or a related role within the insurance or consulting industry.
- Working knowledge of employee benefits regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple client relationships.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (including Excel) and familiarity with ZyWave or similar benefits platforms.
- Experience working with various carrier and benefits administration portals.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask in a client service environment.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience or industry designation.
