Las Cruces Village Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and dependable Weekend Nursing Supervisor – RN or LPN to join our team.
We are looking for a strong nurse leader with skilled nursing or long-term care experience who can provide leadership, clinical oversight, and support to our nursing team throughout the weekend.
The Weekend Supervisor will serve as a key nursing leadership presence in the facility, helping ensure residents receive excellent care, staff have the support they need, and clinical concerns are identified and addressed promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing leadership and supervision throughout assigned weekend shifts
- Support and provide direction to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Conduct rounds throughout the facility and monitor resident care
- Respond to changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate assessment and follow-up
- Ensure physicians, families, and nursing leadership are notified appropriately of significant changes or concerns
- Monitor nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timely completion
- Review new orders, medications, treatments, labs, and other clinical follow-up
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
- Respond to falls, incidents, wounds, infections, and other clinical concerns
- Ensure appropriate interventions are implemented following incidents or changes in condition
- Monitor staffing and help address call-ins or coverage needs
- Provide coaching, guidance, and accountability to nursing staff
- Ensure facility policies, nursing standards, and infection prevention practices are followed
- Address resident and family concerns as appropriate
- Communicate significant weekend events and follow-up needs to the Director of Nursing and leadership team
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and survey-ready environment
Qualifications
- Current RN or LPN license in good standing
- Skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred
- Previous Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Unit Manager, or nursing leadership experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Comfortable providing direction and leadership to nursing staff
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to remain organized and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and committed to consistent weekend coverage
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond appropriately to unexpected situations
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate resident care
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can take ownership of the building from a nursing perspective on the weekends.
The ideal Weekend Supervisor is visible on the units, knows what is happening with residents, supports the staff, responds quickly when problems arise, and makes sure important issues don't wait until Monday.
We need a leader who can balance being supportive and approachable with maintaining strong expectations for resident care, documentation, communication, staffing, and accountability.
