An FBI fingerprint background check will be conducted on all new hires of the Las Cruces Public Schools at a cost to the employee. Continued employment will be contingent upon the results of the background check.
- Must possess NM PED Level II Teacher with Master's Degree or National Board Certification or Level III license.
- Must have 5 years of successful teaching experience.
- Valid secondary teaching license or relevant certification in a STEM field.
- Experience teaching secondary mathematics, science, computer science, or engineering related courses.
- Demonstrated experience supporting instructional materials adoption and implementation.
- Interest or experience in technology integration, computer science, robotics, or digital citizenship.
- Strong background in professional learning design and instructional coaching.
- Ability to analyze implementation and student data to inform instructional support.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience delivering professional development/ mentoring to peers in high yield strategies to support student achievement within the specified content area(s).
- Sophisticated understanding with the state adopted content area standards to include backwards design, lesson planning, assessment, and pacing.
- Evidence of strong oral and written language skills.
- Proven experience working with emergent bilingual/SPED/low socio-economic populations (preferred).
- Evidence of technology integration skills to assist in creating engaging and differentiated learning experiences.
- Evidence of school or district leadership in the specified content area(s), along with success in teaching all subjects, preferably in an integrated fashion.
- Strong evidence of ability to work effectively with other educators.
- Strong evidence of ability to lead/facilitate teacher and student groups that result in positive student outcomes.
