Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
• Write detailed repair orders using automotive estimating software, clearly outlining recommended repairs and services
• Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and obtain accurate diagnostic information
• Provide transparent explanations of repair procedures, costs, and timelines to customers, ensuring clarity and confidence
• Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission services to maximize dealership revenue opportunities
• Manage cash handling processes accurately while maintaining detailed records of transactions
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive repair techniques, collision repair procedures, and service writing best practices
• Use computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools for collision repair assessments when applicable
• Foster strong client relationships through excellent communication skills and proactive follow-up on vehicle status or additional needs

Skills

• Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repairs
• Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
• Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignment, suspension, tire service, and oil changes
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
• Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
• Dealership experience or background in automotive repair shops is highly desirable
• Knowledge of auto estimating processes and collision repair procedures is a plus
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for test drives or vehicle inspections when necessary
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
