What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor & Employment Counsel position at Larson Maddox?
A premier national law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Of Counsel, Senior Counsel, or Senior Associate to join its Seattle or Portland office. About the Role:
This firm is looking to bring on at least one experienced attorney-potentially more-who can contribute meaningfully to a growing litigation caseload across the Pacific Northwest. You do not need to bring a book of business, though candidates with portable work are welcome.
While the primary need is litigation, there's plenty of room for someone who also enjoys providing day-to-day advice and counsel on employment practices, organizational policy development, workplace investigations, and DEI initiatives.
Position Overview:

- Defending claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and wrongful termination
- Drafting and reviewing employment agreements, handbooks, and policies
- Representing clients in federal and state court, as well as before administrative agencies
- Experience with labor relations or traditional labor matters is a plus
This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility while maintaining a strong connection to the Seattle/Portland office and client base.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership and good standing with the Washington State or Oregon Bar
- Excellent academic credentials, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
