Job Description
The Associate General Counsel will serve as a strategic legal advisor, providing practical guidance on commercial transactions, government contracts, regulatory compliance, product development, and supply chain matters. Partnering closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, this role identifies and mitigates legal and business risks while supporting growth, operational performance, and international expansion initiatives.
- Advise business leaders on a broad range of legal and commercial matters, delivering pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
- Support government contracting activities, including FAR/DFARS compliance, export controls, and international regulatory requirements.
- Partner with capture, proposal, and program teams throughout the contract lifecycle, from bid strategy and negotiations through execution.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, government contracts, subcontracts, supplier agreements, licensing arrangements, joint development agreements, and other transactions.
- Proactively identify legal and business risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Promote consistent contracting, compliance, and risk management practices across the Transport segment and enterprise.
- Manage global outside counsel relationships to ensure efficient, high-quality legal support.
- J.D. degree and active bar membership.
- 5 years of legal experience in-house or at a law firm.
- 2 years of government contracts experience.
- Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations and managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- U.S. and international government contracting, including defense programs.
- Manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environments.
- Cross-border transactions and international compliance matters.
- Capture, proposal, and contract negotiation support.
Salary : $200,000 - $240,000
