Kansas City Employment Litigation Associate
A growing management-side Labor & Employment practice in Kansas City is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate to join its collaborative and highly respected team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2 years of litigation experience who is looking to build a long-term career in labor and employment law while working alongside experienced practitioners.
The ideal candidate will have employment litigation experience; however, strong general civil litigators interested in transitioning into the Labor & Employment space are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Handle all phases of discovery, including written discovery and document review
- Take and defend depositions
- Participate in mediations and other dispute resolution proceedings
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
- Advise employers on day-to-day employment law issues and workplace matters
- Work directly with clients to provide practical business-focused solutions
Qualifications:
- 2 years of litigation experience
- Employment litigation experience preferred but not required
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
- Commitment to collaboration, professional development, and growth
- Missouri Bar admission required; Kansas Bar admission preferred
