Description :
A Hospice Billing / AR Specialist ensures the revenue for services provided by hospice agencies are billed, collected, and reimbursed appropriately. This position is a partially remote position; employees will work from home 3 days a week and are required to be in the office, located in Farmington, UT, 2 days a week.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Preparing and submitting clean claims to various insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Obtaining claim status from Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance plans via phone and / or online portals
- Reviewing claims for resolution and payment in a timely manner for maximum reimbursement
- Analyzing remittance advices to ensure accurate and timely posting of rejections, payments, and contractual adjustments
- Posting payments received and adjudicating accounts
- Maintaining a working knowledge of payer practices and reimbursement methodologies
- Becoming a subject matter expert in all payers and assigned A / R responsibilities
- Researching, compiling, and responding to documentation requests from Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance carriers
- Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with agencies
