We are seeking a dedicated trainer to join our team. This role is ideal for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a professional with strong training experience in a memory care, skilled nursing or assisting living environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs (including our direct care, medication technician and skills refresher classes), creating educational materials, and assessing educational needs and skills gaps in each of our homes. Our trainer will provide high quality opportunities for our staff to expand their skills and knowledge while fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and excellence in resident care.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess onboarding and annual training for all care staff. Use diverse techniques, such as role-playing, interactive activities, and simulations, to engage learners and facilitate skill acquisition which is aligned to Larmax’s mission.
- Teach foundational care (ADL care, person‑centered communication, dementia‑informed care, infection control, resident rights and many others).
- Working with the Nursing Coordinator, assist with medication technician training and validations. Provide ongoing coaching on Larmax’s medication administration software, use of vitals in care, transfers and similar medically-informed care needs.
- Prepare schedules and track completions, competencies, and expirations of staff training requirements; maintain accurate training records for survey readiness.
- Partner with house managers and Nursing Staff to implement targeted retraining and monitor improvement. Help participants develop their skills and knowledge through individualized support and guidance.
- Lead workshops, seminars, webinars, and one-on-one sessions to deliver instruction effectively.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of recent experience in assisted living, senior care, or related setting with a focus on working with clients with dementia or developmental disabilities.
- Able to teach at a level that’s universally understandable by all team members.
- Clear, patient, and relatable communication style.
- Hands‑on competency with medication administration workflows, EMR documentation, and ADL care.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for multi‑site travel.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands
- Travels between Larmax Homes communities.
