We are currently seeking a compassionate and clinically knowledgeable Registered Dietitian to join our Dining Services team within our Health Care Center.
This role works collaboratively with Nursing, Therapy, Physicians, Dining Services, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure residents receive individualized nutritional support that promotes health, recovery, quality of life, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-
Conduct nutritional assessments for residents upon admission, quarterly, annually, and with significant changes in condition

Develop and monitor individualized nutrition care plans in accordance with physician orders, resident preferences, and regulatory requirements

Complete required clinical documentation including care plans, progress notes, weight reviews, nutritional assessments, and MDS-related documentation

Monitor residents for nutritional risk factors including weight loss, dehydration, wounds, swallowing difficulties, poor intake, and altered laboratory values
-
Collaborate with Nursing, Speech Therapy, Rehabilitation, Physicians, and Dining Services regarding therapeutic diets and nutritional interventions

Review menus and meal service to ensure nutritional adequacy, dietary compliance, resident satisfaction, and quality standards

Provide recommendations regarding texture modifications, supplements, calorie enhancement strategies, and specialized diets

Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences, QAPI initiatives, infection control activities, and regulatory surveys

Educate residents, families, and staff regarding nutrition, hydration, therapeutic diets, and disease-specific dietary needs

Audit meal service, sanitation practices, food temperatures, and dietary documentation to ensure regulatory compliance

Support Dining Services leadership with menu planning, substitutions, and nutrition-related compliance initiatives

Serve as a clinical nutrition resource for the organization and support resident-centered dining initiatives
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, or related field required

Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN)

Current Kansas licensure, if applicable

Minimum one year of clinical nutrition experience preferred

Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or healthcare experience preferred

Knowledge of therapeutic diets, nutrition support, MDS documentation, and CMS regulations preferred

Strong communication, organization, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills required

Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems preferred
