What are the responsibilities and job description for the ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE AIDE (Full-Time) position at Larkin Community Hospital?
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Service Aide to join our Housekeeping team. As an integral part of our hospital’s commitment to patient safety and cleanliness, you will play a key role in maintaining a sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, clinical areas, waiting rooms, and other assigned hospital spaces following infection control standards
- Remove trash, soiled linen, and biohazard waste in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in designated areas
- Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other tools as needed
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests and spills to ensure patient and staff safety
- Follow daily cleaning checklists and maintain documentation as required
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience (hospital or healthcare setting preferred)
- Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation practices
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
