Responsibilities
What we're looking for:
- Operate a commercial roll-off truck to transport waste or recycling containers to and from various locations, landfills, and transfer stations.
- Load and unload roll-off containers using hydraulic controls.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation), OSHA, and county safety regulations.
- Inspect containers for damage and reports or repairs.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and weight tickets.
- Document container deliveries, pickups, and service issues.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Routine software and business applications including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, virtual collaboration and meeting software, and databases.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Consistent, predictable attendance.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle operation and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Understanding of transfer station and landfill operations.

- Possession of a valid driver's license by date of hire is required
- Possession of, and ability to maintain a class 'B' commercial driver license (CDL) required.
- Tanker Endorsement (N) by date of hire required.
- Two (2) years of experience in commercial, waste hauling, or similar heavy vehicle driving required.
