Family Time Case Manager Temp

We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic staff member to join our Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Division as a Family Time Case Manager temp.

Family Time Case Manager positions are very rewarding! Family Time Case Managers provide support and encouragement to parents of children who are victims of abuse and neglect by helping parents learn and develop parenting skills, increase parental capacity, and make progress in addressing concerns that led to their children's involvement in child welfare. This position promotes, supervises, and monitors safe family time to help parents and children develop and maintain attachment bonding. Family Time Case Managers work as part of the "family team" with caseworkers, attorneys, treatment providers, kinship/foster families, and parents and their children.

This position is part-time and primarily in the community, with flexibility for some remote/office work.

A temporary Case Manager can work a variety of hours per day and per week. The hours for this position may vary between 12:30 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday - Friday, and between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. This position must attend team meetings on Wednesdays from 1pm to 2:30pm. In addition, Case Manager temps may be asked to help with tasks within the department, including providing transportation for children with scheduled visitation.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing safe, educational, supervised parenting time for children in out-of-home placement and their parents.
• Assessing and evaluating parenting skills and providing skill-building to address deficits and reduce concerns about child safety, specifically regarding the Six Protective Factors: nurturing and attachment, knowledge of child developmental stages, parental resilience, supportive social connections, access to concrete community support, and children's social and emotional competence.
• Working in a team consisting of the family, family support network, Caseworker, Guardian Ad Litem, care provider and other service providers.
• Testifying in court.
• Providing transportation for some children to and from parenting time.
• Providing timely and accurate documentation on each contact with a family.
• Attending Family Unity Meetings, Family Group Conferences, Permanency Round Tables for each family on your caseload.
• Attending all unit meetings, individual and group supervision.
• Providing in-person family time for incarcerated parents at the Larimer County Detention Center.
• Training, coaching, and supporting kin/non-traditional kin to provide safe, supervised family time.

• Knowledge of family dynamics, child development, and effective parenting strategies
• Understanding of abuse, neglect, and safe, appropriate parent education
• Experience working with parents facing substance use, mental health challenges, legal issues, and complex family systems
• Ability to work effectively with children who have experienced trauma
• Familiarity with social services programs, including principles of case management and service planning
• Knowledge of community resources and how they relate to client needs
• Strong observation, assessment, and documentation skills
• Ability to contribute to and implement service plans
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond appropriately to crises and manage conflict situations
• Skilled in time management and scheduling multiple appointments efficiently
• Ability to maintain timely and accurate records of work performed
• Safe driving skills and understanding of proper passenger restraint techniques
• Ability to act as a credible witness when testifying in court

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Combination of education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License.
