This newly created position is an exciting opportunity to help connect our service area departments with the community. Supporting Community Development, Engineering, Road & Bridge, and Solid Waste, you'll develop communication strategies that inform, engage, and build awareness of the important work these teams do every day.
In this role, you'll create content and share information through social media, websites, media outreach, community presentations, events, and other communication channels. You'll help ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and accessible while providing graphic design support and strengthening the department's overall communications efforts.
This is more than just a communications role. You'll also provide operational and administrative support to department directors, helping teams stay organized and advance key initiatives.

Following a training period, this role will move to a hybrid schedule with travel requirements.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Translating technical information from engineering, road and bridge, planning, and solid waste projects into clear, engaging content that helps community members understand the work happening around them.
- Leading public meetings, gathering feedback, and delivering effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Collaborating with department leaders, subject matter experts, and the Public Affairs Team to communicate complex topics and ensure messaging aligns with Larimer County's voice and brand standards.
- Developing content and sharing information through a variety of communication channels while helping departments engage with the community.
- Coordinating logistics, managing meeting agendas, planning events and outreach activities, and helping keep projects and initiatives on track.

- Interest in supporting Community Development, Engineering, Road & Bridge, and Solid Waste as they serve the residents of Larimer County.
- Commitment to clear communication, excellent customer service, and meaningful community engagement.
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- Two (2) years of experience working with design programs, such as InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop, is required.
- Three (3) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility and around the community as needed and required.
