You will oversee the daily operations at the transfer station to ensure efficient waste management, safe operations, and regulatory compliance. You will also manage budgets, administrative functions, and customer service delivery while leading programs for construction and demolition (C&D) diversion, green waste processing, and recycling initiatives, and ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including DOT records for CDL drivers.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Exercising direct supervision over technical, professional, and administrative staff.
- Assigns, directs, and supervises activities of assigned staff ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards; administers or makes recommendations for routine personnel matters affecting subordinates, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, scheduling work hours, granting leave, appraising performance, disciplining, and submitting such records and reports as required by County policies and procedures.
- Overseeing waste flow management, monitors, and enforces proper disposal and recycling procedures.
- Coordinates maintenance and operation of loaders and transfer trucks.
- Conducts routine inspections and enforces safety and compliance standards.
- Monitors fuel usage, equipment logs, and facility conditions.
- Managing the construction and demolition (C&D) diversion programs.
What We're Looking For
- Understand general office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of r outine software and business application including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, virtual meeting and collaboration software and databases.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies and standard operating procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Regular, predictable attendance.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- Leadership methods and management skills.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Five (5) years of solid waste experience, including operation of state permitted solid waste transfer facility.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
- Two (2) years of experience with construction and demolition diversion, recycling operations, and green waste processing preferred.
