Job Summary – Performance Tester ( Ashburn, VA)
- Role: Performance Tester
- Location: Ashburn, VA (Onsite, 5 days a week, local candidates preferred)
- Type/Duration: Multi-year, long-term contract
- Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain (ideally already hold) a DHS/CBP Public Trust
- Build and maintain Python-based automation for complex data and API workflows
- Design and execute automation test scripts for regression, functional, and system testing
- Generate and validate test data (JSON, XML, etc.)
- Create SQL/Unix scripts for data generation and test automation
- Verify results, document findings, and manage defects through closure
- Support performance and integration testing of distributed systems
- Collaborate with users, engineers, and product teams; document user stories and defects in JIRA
- Utilize modern IDEs for development and testing (e.g., IntelliJ, Eclipse)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 9 years’ experience in test automation or software engineering
- Strong hands-on Python 3 development experience (mandatory)
- Experience with LoadRunner
- Java 8 and Spring Boot
- Selenium and Rest Assured for API/web service automation
- JavaScript experience
- Familiarity with UI automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, Jest)
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
- Experience automating test data generation for regression suites
- Oracle/Postgres; PL/SQL
- Exposure to AWS (preferred)
- Experience with Docker, Jenkins, GitLab, Kubernetes, Playwright
- Prior software engineering experience in Python or Java
- Candidates with current/active CBP or DHS Public Trust (or higher) clearance will avoid onboarding delays.
- Preference for candidates with strong academic foundations and experience in reputable engineering or federal contracting environments.
- High expectations for technical depth and quality of work.
Salary : $50 - $52
