Job Summary (Cloud Network Engineer - Libertyville, IL)
- Design, develop, and implement Azure cloud services including VMs, App Services, AKS, Functions, Storage, and Monitoring.
- Architect and deploy cloud network solutions such as VNETs, Subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and SDWAN.
- Automate infrastructure using ARM Templates, Terraform, PowerShell, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Optimize cloud performance and costs with techniques like autoscaling, load balancing, and reserved instances.
- Ensure system scalability, reliability, availability, and security in all cloud and network solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and maintain resilient systems.
- Investigate and stay updated on technology trends relevant to cloud networking.
- Lead infrastructure projects, defining scopes, timelines, and resource allocations; monitor project progress and resolve issues.
- Implement and enforce security policies; ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, NIST); remediate vulnerabilities and design secure systems.
- Support Zero Trust Architecture, Identity & Access Management, including Azure AD and RBAC.
- Manage vendor relationships; evaluate technology vendors and monitor service levels.
- Plan and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures, including Azure Site Recovery, Backup, and Geo Redundancy.
- Assess and document enterprise network and server environments (LAN/WAN/Fiber/Voice at Tennessee locations, on-prem and cloud).
- Evaluate network security postures and produce assessment reports (network, server, security).
- Produce detailed documentation including architecture, configuration, capacity, performance, and risk assessment reports.
- Foster a collaborative and proactive troubleshooting environment within the team.
