Responsibilities
- Assist applicants in completing Medicaid eligibility applications accurately and thoroughly
- Review and verify submitted documentation to ensure compliance with program requirements
- Communicate clearly with applicants via phone, email, or online portals to gather necessary information
- Interpret medical terminology and understand medical office procedures to evaluate applicant data effectively
- Support applicants by explaining program benefits, eligibility criteria, and next steps in the process
- Maintain detailed records of all interactions and application statuses within our secure system
- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex cases and improve overall service quality
Requirements
- Proven experience in Medicaid eligibility or related healthcare administrative roles
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures
- Prior experience working in a skilled nursing home and assisted living setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a positive, customer-focused attitude
- Ability to navigate medical administrative support systems and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Office experience, including familiarity with computer applications and data entry tools
- Self-motivated with the discipline to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in Medicaid eligibility, healthcare billing, or long-term care business offfice
- Knowledge of Medicaid rules and regulations preferred
