Position Summary
Housekeepers at Larchmont Yacht Club are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across all guest and staff areas. This includes guest rooms, common areas, restrooms, and Club facilities. The ideal candidate takes pride in detailed work, follows safety and cleaning protocols, and contributes to a team-oriented atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, restrooms, and public areas according to Club standards
- Vacuum, sweep, mop floors, and dust furniture, shelves, and fixtures
- Make beds, replace linens, and restock amenities in guest rooms
- Wash, dry, and fold Club laundry, including linens and towels
- Replenish housekeeping carts and storage closets with necessary supplies
- Clean mirrors, windows, baseboards, and high-touch surfaces
- Sanitize bathrooms, tubs, sinks, and shower areas
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and completed room readiness
- Attend department meetings and complete additional tasks as assigned
- Attention to Detail: Maintains high standards in cleanliness and presentation
- Teamwork: Works cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues and supervisors
- Professionalism: Presents a courteous, discreet, and member-first attitude at all times
- Safety Awareness: Understands and follows procedures for handling cleaning agents and responding to emergencies
- Efficiency: Completes tasks thoroughly and within time expectations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year of housekeeping or similar experience in hospitality or private club settings preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment, chemical safety, and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs
- Comfortable working with cleaning agents and handling soiled linens
- Ability to use ladders and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
- May require exposure to bodily fluids in accordance with safety protocols
- Hourly Rate: $19.00 per hour
