Job Summary

Job Summary

Primary Function: The Music Enrichment Specialist will collaborate with lead teachers to develop and implement an integrated curriculum that utilizes constructivist instructional methods appropriate for each grade level. They will create a healthy and safe learning environment that demonstrates respect for all and supports student success. They will communicate and partner effectively with lead teachers and parents to support student learning. They will support in evaluating student learning and adapting to evaluation data to continually improve our academic program. This position is also responsible for supporting the academic and socio/emotional growth of our diverse group of students. The Music Enrichment Specialist communicates regularly with lead teachers and parents and establishes positive relationships with all stakeholders in our learning community.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: (*) Bachelor’s Degree (*) 3 successful years working with school-aged children (*) Familiarity with constructivist pedagogy (*) An enthusiasm for curriculum development to support a growing school program. (*) TB Test clearance & DOJ finger printing clearance (*) Possess/maintain valid infant, child and Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification (*) As part of the application process, the applicant must provide HR with a complete list of all certificated assignments they have held at any and all District, Charter School or Local Educational Agency (LEA).

Constructivism is a theory of learning which holds that each of us has a unique schema of the world based on our lived experience and that by interacting with our environment we make connections to what we already know and construct new meaning.
