As a Maintenance Helper, you'll play a vital role in supporting our maintenance operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of our facilities, equipment, and maintaining our properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day maintenance activities, including but not limited to repairs, cleaning, and equipment operation.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to execute preventive maintenance tasks for equipment and machinery.
- Collaborate with the team to perform grounds keeping duties including lawn maintenance, removal of trash and debris, and provide support for renovation projects.
- Assist in inspecting facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Support the management of work schedules and task assignments to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Participate in maintaining a safe and clean work environment by following established safety protocols and housekeeping practices.
- Provide valuable input on procurement needs, requisitions, estimates, and cost quotes, contributing to effective resource allocation.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies at any LARC, Inc. facilities, demonstrating a readiness to assist during weekends and holidays when ‘On-Call’.
Qualification Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures and the operation of common tools and equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks that may require standing, walking, lifting, crawling & stooping, and operating tools and equipment.
- Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to creating a secure work environment.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
- 2 years of previous experience in maintenance or related fields.
- Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Carpentry certifications/experience is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding and working with various equipment and machinery.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of maintenance tasks and an eagerness to learn new skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be responsible and reliable.
