Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary tests to assess patient vision and eye health.
• Maintain organized medical records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist patients with contact lens insertion and removal training.
• Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans and facilitating communication between providers and patients.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, to facilitate billing.
• Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Schedule patient appointments efficiently using EHR system.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures while maintaining accurate documentation review.
• Assists and educates patients with the selection of frames, lenses, and lens enhancements based on the patient’s prescription and specific needs.
• Performs eyeglass frame adjustments and repairs. Includes proper alignment of frame, comfortable fit, functional vision, and instructions on proper wear and care of eyeglasses.
