Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers, will ensure timely deliveries and excellent service. Duties
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks including manual transmission vehicles, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to transport freight across multiple routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Follow designated routes diligently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols; communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route adjustments or delays.
- Assist with the loading and unloading process when necessary, ensuring cargo is handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams for timely freight pickup and delivery schedules while providing excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Proven truck driving experience with knowledge of freight handling, route driving, and delivery procedures.
- Ability to operate various truck types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Familiarity with load securement techniques for different cargo types such as freight on flatbeds or tanker loads.
- Proficiency in using equipment like forklifts for loading/unloading when required; forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and vehicle maintenance.
- Physical ability to perform load & unload tasks regularly; comfortable working in different weather conditions.
