Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining apartment homes, common areas, and property grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for residents. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs including:
- Plumbing repairs (leaks, faucets, toilets, drains)
- Electrical repairs (outlets, switches, fixtures)
- HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
- Appliance repairs and installations
- Drywall repair, painting, and carpentry work
- Prepare vacant units for new residents, including inspections, repairs, cleaning coordination, and quality checks.
- Conduct preventative maintenance throughout the property.
- Maintain property grounds, common areas, and amenities.
- Identify and report safety hazards or major repair needs.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal property maintenance as needed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls, including after-hours emergencies when scheduled.
- Maintain maintenance logs, inventory, and work order records.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or related experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, painting, and carpentry.
- Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
