Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction in reading, writing, math, and/or social studies aligned to High School Equivalency standards
- Prepare students for GED® or equivalent High School Equivalency assessments Adapt instruction to meet the needs of adult learners in a correctional environment
- Track student attendance, progress, and learning outcomes Support and encourage adult learners through trauma-informed and student-centered practices
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and security protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring adult learners, especially in literacy education or preparing students for high school equivalency exams.
- Strong background in nstructional design, and lesson planning tailored to adult education settings.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt instruction for diverse cultural backgrounds and learning styles.
- Knowledge of special education needs, including deaf education or visually impaired education, is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students from varied educational backgrounds and life experiences with patience and adaptability.
