LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort and the Inn on Fifth is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Catering and Conference Services to lead our catering and conference services teams. This individual will drive revenue growth, elevate guest experiences, and strengthen our market presence by overseeing all sales, catering and event operations. The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader with a proven track record in hospitality sales and passion for service excellence, and strong relationships within the meetings, events, and leisure markets.
Requirements
Key responsibilities include:
Event Coordination: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, meetings, and events, ensuring client satisfaction and operational excellence.
Logistical Management: Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and accommodations.
Budget Management: Develop and manage department and event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
Team Leadership: Lead and train the conference services team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Client Communication: Facilitate communication between clients and staff to ensure all event requirements are met and conduct post-event evaluations to assess success.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a background in conference services and event management.
Experience:
- 5-10 years' experience in Catering, Sales and Conference Service Management
- Associate degree or equivalent from a 4-year institution in Events Management or related field preferred
- Proficient in computer Microsoft Suite, and a working a knowledge of Sales Force, Revenate and Profit Sword a plus
