Lapham-Hickey offers total supply solutions that integrate distribution, fabrication, logistics, and inventory management. Customers can receive raw material or value-added parts through tailored programs such as kanban, kitting, or just-in-time release. All programs are designed to meet specific customer requirements and operational needs.


Purpose/Summary

We are seeking a Corporate Safety Manager to provide strategic guidance for our multi-state operations. This position must be a bold advocate for promoting a safety-first culture while developing a vision for implementing and maintaining safety policies and procedures. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and eliminating risks and potential exposures. A natural trainer, willing to coach and mentor the production leadership and all team members on compliance and various safety initiatives.

 

Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Appointed safety liaison between Corporate and all company locations, leading regular safety meetings, audits, site inspections, training record audits and monitoring OSHA compliance.
  • Responsible for OSHA required reporting of injuries and assisting with OSHA responses inquiries and/or investigations.
  • Collect and analyze safety data to identify injury/incidents trends and implement programs to reduce and/or eliminate future occurrences.
  • Liaison to workers’ compensation carriers to manage claims activity.
  • Take lead on investigating all safety related incidents, reviews incident reports and completes necessary reports and communications.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on orientation and various employee safety training topics.  
  • Regularly inspects and reviews plant operations to assure compliance of all permits, operation and equipment with state and federal regulations. Reports any potential violations and recommends corrective action as needed.
  • Responsible for tracking employee training in areas such as safety awareness, machine guarding, hand safety, material handling, pedestrian safety, overhead loads, hazard identification, lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment.


Qualifications; Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or similar business field
  • CSP or ASP certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of Safety Management experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in OSHA compliance and reporting standards to include overall health and safety best practices.
  • Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards
  • Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety protocols
  • Proficient in data analysis and risk assessment
  • Good organizational, leadership and motivational skills
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum 5 years managing workplace accidents, incidents, injuries or illness.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing environment (plant) experience
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working Conditions: Plant environment.
