Duties
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load, unload, and organize inventory using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely drop-offs while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Assist with warehouse operations by moving goods, stacking pallets, and managing inventory with manual handling practices and warehouse equipment.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after deliveries to ensure safety and compliance with all DOT regulations.
- Use mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication with team members.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring safe lifting practices are followed to prevent injury or damage.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or related logistics roles.
- Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license; experience operating box trucks or vans preferred.
- Familiarity with delivery driving, including route planning and adherence to traffic laws.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques, safe lifting practices, and weight handling in the workplace is essential.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks safely.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude during deliveries and interactions with clients.
