What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP Business Development position at Lantheus Medical Imaging, Inc.?
The VP of Business Development will hold primary responsibility for identifying, evaluating and negotiating partnerships on new business opportunities in support of Lantheus strategy and business objectives.
Essential Functions
- Accountable for proactively identifying, assessing and negotiating BD opportunities that could enhance Lantheus portfolio, in line with Lantheus strategy. It includes the implementation of licensing, distribution, M&A opportunities and R&D collaborations
- Collaborates closely with Portfolio Planning and the other functions to assess new growth opportunities pre- and during due diligences
- Assesses and develops partnership options for maximizing Company products outside the U.S.
- Develops and executes smart BD deals for early stage assets that could enhance the Company pipeline, whist limiting the upfront spend
- Leads negotiations for comprehensive and critical business developments, alliances, and agreements with external partners. Consults with other executive leadership team members and CEO in driving Business Development initiatives through in-depth research of emerging modalities, commercial and intellectual property intelligence analyses, reports and recommendations.
- Identifies, develops and cultivates scientific and business relationships with peers, academia, pharmaceutical companies and other stakeholders.
- Assumes accountability for organizational results. Influences others to achieve and or exceed objectives. Leads decision making process for critical programs and initiatives. Routinely makes decisions that affect current and long range corporate objectives.
- Participates in ongoing executive leadership team processes and initiatives; driving the integration of business development strategies within functional organization.
- Maintains current knowledge of, and ensures all functional work teams’ activities are conducted in compliance with the full range of related internal and external systems, technology, regulatory requirements and related policies and procedures.

Typical Minimum Skills and Experience and Education
- PhD or Masters degree with over 10 years progressive leadership experience and solid record of achievement in roles of increasing responsibility in Business Development, Commercial, strategic planning, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years Business Development experience in Pharmaceutical companies and / or Biotech
- Routine overnight travel based on business need and frequent weekend work may be required.
Salary : $151,000 - $191,000
