Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual for the position of Barn and Horse Care. This role involves providing exceptional care for horses and maintaining the barn environment to ensure a safe and healthy space for both animals and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising barn activities, operating barn equipment, and performing various maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily PM barn operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Provide care for horses, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring their health.
- Maintain cleanliness of the barn, stalls, and surrounding areas to promote a hygienic environment.
- Operate farm machinery as needed for various tasks such as moving hay or maintaining grounds.
- Perform heavy lifting duties related to feeding, bedding, and general care of the horses.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for repairs and maintenance of barn facilities and equipment.
- Assist in gardening activities around the barn area to enhance aesthetics and functionality.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify any necessary repairs or maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in horse care or working on a farm is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating or learining how to operate farm machinery safely.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the role.
