Why You Matter:

As a Welder at Lantech, you will be a member of a team that skillfully fabricates the steel components of our Stretch wrappers. Production welders at Lantech are tasked with using their metalworking expertise to lay the foundation on which our machines are built.

Here's a Glimpse at What you'll Do:

Work with a team in the welding of spare parts and retrofit fabrications for machines already in the field. Job requires the ability to read basic fabrication drawings and weld within fabrication fixtures. Light machining may be required at times using a saw, drill, tap and shear. Will be using a wide range of hand and power tools to complete task. Requires manual dexterity to maneuver equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be willing/able to work overtime as needed to complete projects to meet customer demand. Must be willing/able to learn small assembly work to balance the workload of the RE/SP team. Must be willing and able to drive a forklift, including certification

As a Retrofit / Spare Parts Welder, you will:

• Weld mild steel in order to fabricate the scale base fabrication
• Load and unload fixtures for welding; pushing carts with parts
• Grind all surface welds at a level to not be seen after the painting is complete
• Run radial arm drill press and saw
• Read a tape measure
• Measure and cut parts
• Backfill other cells as needed

Physical requirements include standing for 9.5 hours each day, manual dexterity to maneuver equipment for welding as well as lifting up to 50 lbs.

What are We Looking For? (Requirements)

We are looking for someone who:

• Must be able to pass a Weld assessment
• Welding experience
• Must be willing to learn all current fabrications for all line that pertain to Retro / Spare Parts sales
• Ideal candidate to have multi line / multi skill welding experience.
• Is able to read and follow instructions in English (blueprints and standard work).
• Must be a self-starter who is detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and ability to work effectively within the fast-paced environment described above.
• Has a high aptitude for working with situations of a manufacturing nature.
• Practices safe work habits as an individual and with co-workers.
• Adheres to guidelines related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Is a team-oriented individual with good interaction/communication skills.
• Is able to get directions and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Is detail-oriented and able to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
• Is able to lift up to 50lbs
• Is able to stand for 9-10 hours per day
• Is able to pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check.
• Is willing and able to work overtime to complete projects and/or meet scheduling deadlines.
• Is customer focused with a strong commitment to quality and production schedule
• Has sustained a record of good attendance.
• Is legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Education & Experience:

• Must be willing to learn production welding on a variety of work cell / lines in which spare parts are needed.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required (Additional training from vocational or trade school is a plus).

Desired Skills:

• Must have a sustained record of good attendance.
• Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
• Must possess strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to adapt and remain flexible with changing environment / production schedule.
• Ideal candidate would have a history of good problem-solving skills.
