Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Conduct repairs involving welding, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical troubleshooting using schematics and technical manuals.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot and optimize automated systems.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical issues accurately.
- Execute residential painting projects and other facilities maintenance tasks to uphold the facility’s appearance and safety standards.
- Supervise or assist with maintenance projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work is completed efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Support manufacturing or production areas by ensuring machinery is functioning properly and downtime is minimized.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants.
- Lead small teams or supervise contractors during complex repair or renovation projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field with hands-on skills in mechanical, electrical, welding, and plumbing tasks.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting procedures for various systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes.
- Electrical experience including wiring, circuit testing with ohmmeters, and understanding electrical codes.
- Experience with residential painting techniques and general building upkeep.
- Supervising or leadership experience in a maintenance or facilities environment preferred.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical diagrams for repairs or installations.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and report on maintenance activities effectively.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for tracking work orders and maintenance history is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing or industrial settings is highly desirable.
