In pursuit of this mission, we are looking to hire an Evaluation and Pupil Accounting Manager. 

The Evaluation and Pupil Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing districtwide educator evaluation systems and pupil accounting operations to ensure compliance, accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. This position provides leadership and coordination for staff evaluation processes, student membership and attendance reporting, state reporting requirements, audit preparation, and related data management systems.

The Evaluation and Pupil Accounting Manager works collaboratively with district administrators, school leaders, and central office departments to support compliance with state and federal regulations while ensuring accurate reporting and effective operational practices across the district.

Qualifications

Education

Master’s degree required in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in school administration, pupil accounting, educator evaluations, data management, or related educational leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with Michigan pupil accounting procedures and state reporting systems preferred.
  • Experience coordinating evaluation systems and compliance processes preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Michigan pupil accounting laws, audit procedures, and state reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of educator evaluation laws, systems, and best practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and compliance requirements simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Proficiency with student information systems, data platforms, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to provide training and technical support to administrators and staff.


Job Responsibilities
 
Educator Evaluation Responsibilities 
  • Coordinate and oversee the district’s educator evaluation processes for certified and non-certified staff.
  • Support implementation of district evaluation frameworks, procedures, timelines, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain evaluation guidance documents, training materials, and communication tools for administrators and staff.
  • Monitor completion of evaluations, observations, student growth components, and required documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to administrators regarding evaluation procedures and systems.
  • Maintain accurate evaluation records and ensure confidentiality of personnel information.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and district leadership regarding evaluation compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Support district initiatives related to professional growth, accountability, and instructional improvement.
  • Generate reports and analyze evaluation-related data to support district decision-making and compliance efforts.
  • Assist with implementation and oversight of student growth calculations and educator effectiveness requirements.
Pupil Accounting Responsibilities 
  • Oversee district pupil accounting functions to ensure compliance with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and state audit requirements.
  • Monitor student enrollment, attendance, residency, Schools of Choice, and membership reporting processes.
  • Coordinate Count Day procedures, attendance audits, and Absent on Count Day (AOCD) documentation.
  • Ensure accurate Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) reporting and student accounting practices districtwide.
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of state and internal audits related to pupil accounting and student records.
  • Provide training and guidance to building administrators, secretaries, and office staff regarding pupil accounting procedures and state requirements.
  • Monitor student attendance trends and support district attendance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with district departments to ensure accurate state reporting through MSDS, CEPI, and related systems.
  • Review and maintain compliance related to residency documentation, withdrawals, transfers, and enrollment procedures.
  • Support development and implementation of district procedures related to enrollment and attendance operations.
Leadership and Operational Responsibilities 
  • Supervise and support assigned staff and departmental operations.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with school and district leadership to resolve complex student accounting and evaluation issues.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and supporting documentation for district leadership, auditors, and the Board of Education.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding employee and student information.
  • Attend district, state, and professional meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Data and Accountability.

  • Daily use of office technology including computers, printers, and phones.

  • May occasionally lift or move materials or packages weighing up to 20 pounds.
