Wholesale Meat Beef Grind – Job Description
Position Summary:
The Beef Grind Worker is responsible for producing ground beef products that meet company specifications for quality, consistency, and safety. This role involves operating grinding and packaging equipment, verifying product quality, maintaining sanitation standards, and following all food safety and workplace safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process beef trim into ground beef according to production specifications.
- Operate meat grinders, mixers, scales, and packaging machines safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper lean point ratios and product weights through regular quality checks.
- Label and package products accurately for wholesale distribution.
- Monitor temperature control and sanitation throughout the grinding process.
- Follow all HACCP, USDA, and company food safety standards.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality and consistency.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area, including disassembly and sanitation of grinders.
- Record production data, including lot codes and yield information.
- Assist with inventory rotation and storage of raw and finished products.
- Support other production areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in meat processing or food manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of grinding, mixing, and packaging equipment a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and work in a refrigerated environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and able to follow instructions accurately.
Work Environment:
- Cold production area (32°F–45°F).
- Standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Use of knives, grinders, and other cutting/mechanical equipment.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
