Pay: $16-$18 - Commesurate with experience
Job Summary:
The Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department, ensuring high-quality, fresh products are available to customers at all times. This role focuses on maintaining proper product temperatures, freshness standards, and an organized, well-stocked department while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
· Monitor and maintain proper temperature control for all produce items, coolers, and displays in compliance with food safety standards
· Ensure all fruits and vegetables meet freshness and quality standards; remove and properly dispose of spoiled or damaged product
· Receive, inspect, and rotate incoming shipments using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices
· Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays to drive sales and minimize shrink
· Track and reduce product shrink through proper handling, rotation, and inventory management
· Ensure compliance with company policies and local/state health regulations
· Order product as needed to maintain proper inventory levels
· Supervise, train, and support produce department team members
· Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection and questions
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas, equipment, and storage spaces
Qualifications
· High school diploma/GED

Working Hours:

Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Grocery Store Manager position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8 hours per shift)
· Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to stock and rotate product
· Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance
· Frequent use of hands for gripping, lifting, cutting, and handling produce items
· Ability to push and pull carts, pallets, and stocking equipment
· Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including refrigerated coolers and wet environments
· Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access high shelving
· Good visual ability to inspect product quality, freshness, and identify spoilage
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motions
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
