Position Summary:
As a Cashier at our family-owned Fresh Market, youll be the friendly face that welcomes customers and ensures they have a pleasant checkout experience. Youll handle transactions with care, keep the front of the store clean and organized, and lend a hand wherever needed to help keep our market running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet every customer warmly and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Accurately ring up sales and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions.
- Bag groceries carefully and assist customers with carry-out if needed.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with bags and supplies.
- Answer questions and provide basic product or pricing information.
- Assist with restocking shelves, facing product, and general store upkeep when checkout is slow.
- Follow all cash-handling and food safety procedures.
- Work cooperatively with team members to provide a positive shopping experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
- Friendly, dependable, and customer focused.
- Comfortable handling money and using a cash register or POS system.
- Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Willing to work some weekends and holidays as needed.
