Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Swing Shift Crew Supervisor to lead our janitorial and custodial team during evening operations. The ideal candidate will have strong supervisory skills, hands-on custodial experience, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, quality, and customer service.
The Crew Supervisor will oversee daily cleaning operations, supervise and train employees, operate and demonstrate the proper use of floor-care equipment, conduct quality inspections, and ensure safety procedures are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise custodial employees.
- Operate floor-care equipment and train and mentor employees on its proper use.
- Operate and train employees on:
- Orbital floor scrubbers
- Carpet extraction machines
- Wet/dry vacuum machines
- Battery-operated floor scrubbers
- Floor stripping, sealing, and waxing equipment
- Train employees on the proper use and handling of floor-care chemicals and SDS requirements.
- Train employees on floor stripping and refinishing procedures.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings.
- Conduct quality control inspections of crew work and address deficiencies as needed.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality throughout the assigned areas.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven supervisory experience in custodial services, janitorial management, facility management, or a related field.
- Two to four years related experience and/or training.
- Experience supervising employees in a fast-paced industrial or commercial cleaning environment.
- Hands-on experience with industrial or commercial floor-care equipment.
- Experience training employees on cleaning chemicals, SDS requirements, and safe equipment operation.
- Experience with floor stripping, sealing, waxing, and refinishing procedures.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate employees and maintain high standards of performance and cleanliness.
- Ability to work the assigned Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–1:30 AM schedule and support operational needs as required.
