What are the responsibilities and job description for the INFECTION CONTROL NURSE position at LANIER?
- Infection Prevention and Control support services provided include but are not limited to: surveillance, prevention and control of infections, reporting, control measures, consultations, and education. Reports to the Director of Infection Prevention and Control and is responsible to the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and Infection Prevention and Control Chairman.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Graduate of an accredited School of nursing or accredited medical technologist program.
- Current licensure as RN with the Georgia Board of Nursing or American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hospital setting.
- Bachelor’s degree Preferred.
- Eligible to attend HIV Counseling Course.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient/family units and other staff members.
- Able to communicate clearly with diverse population of patients/ family/ staff.
- Ability to work well as an individual and as a team member.
- Ability to adapt to new situations, set priorities and use problem-solving techniques in a positive manner.
- Ability to document clinical information, assist in creating policies and procedures, teach, and provide learning opportunities.
- Computer skills necessary for data entry and communication.
