Fleet Maintenance Manager / Lead Mechanic

Lanier Logistics, Inc. , and Independent Fedex Service Provider, is hiring a highly skilled, dependable, and organized Fleet Maintenance Manager / Lead Mechanic to oversee maintenance and repairs for a growing fleet of 26–40 commercial trucks.

This is more than a mechanic position — it is an opportunity to lead, build, and grow an in-house maintenance operation while creating strong income potential.

We need someone who can keep trucks on the road, reduce downtime, control repair costs, and take ownership of our fleet maintenance program. The ideal candidate can handle both preventive maintenance and major repairs:

Having your own tools is a major plus! We will also assist in acquiring additional tools needed for success

Example of Responsibilities (But not limited to)

Preventive Maintenance

• Oil changes
• Tires
• Brakes
• Rotors
• Spark plugs & Wires
• Routine inspections
• DOT Compliancy

Advanced Repairs

• Engine diagnostics and repairs
• Transmission troubleshooting / repairs
• Calipers
• Wheel seals
• Electrical issues
• Drivability problems
• Suspension Issues
• Upper Control Arm Repairs

Fleet Management

• Track maintenance schedules and service records
• Manage repair logs and truck uptime
• Coordinate with vendors and negotiate repair pricing when needed. (Expectation is to do 95% of the work yourself)
• Help build scalable systems for a 26–40 truck fleet
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs when necessary
• Manage part-time preventative maintenance techs

Schedule

• Regular set working hours, mainly in the evenings when trucks are back at the terminal 5pm-1am
• Sunday Work would be strongly encouraged and a plus as most trucks are grounded on Sundays.
• On-call availability for urgent fleet issues in a 7am-8pm delivery operation
