Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration services across commercial properties. Duties
- controls, start up, service, and repair a wide range of commercial HVAC systems including commercial split systems, ductless split systems, VRF, RTUs, watersource heat pumps, chill water FCUs, boilers, chillers, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC units and building automation systems.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling.
- Maintain and calibrate HVAC controls, sensors, thermostats, and building automation systems to optimize system performance.
- Perform plumbing work related to HVAC systems including pipe installation, leak detection, and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems when applicable.
- Use hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to repair or replace mechanical components efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system issues, repair timelines, and maintenance recommendations.
- Assist in system installation projects by following HVAC system design specifications and ensuring proper integration with electrical and mechanical components.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system diagnostics for accountability and future reference.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in commercial HVAC system installation and maintenance.
- Service technician experience working with HVAC/R equipment in commercial or industrial settings.
- Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, and HVAC design principles.
- Hands-on experience repairing HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and plumbing related to HVAC applications.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in equipment troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters or multimeters.
- Familiarity with electrical diagnostics related to HVAC/R equipment repairs and system maintenance.
- Experience working with property maintenance teams or in field service roles involving appliance repair or mechanical systems repair is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely; welding skills are a plus for certain repair tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with
driver requirements preferred. - EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or boiler operation are advantageous.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
