French/Arabic Teacher – Summer Camp & Small Group Classes Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and engaging French Teacher to join our team for our Summer Camp and Small Group Language Programs. The teacher will provide interactive French instruction to children through fun, immersive, and age-appropriate activities that promote language development, cultural awareness, and student confidence.
The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching children, enjoys creating dynamic learning experiences, and can effectively engage students in both camp-style activities and structured small-group language instruction.
Responsibilities
- Teach French lessons to children in summer camp and small group settings
- Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that support beginner to intermediate language learners
- Incorporate games, music, storytelling, movement, arts and crafts, and hands-on activities into instruction
- Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment that supports language acquisition
- Supervise and engage students during camp activities, transitions, and enrichment sessions
- Adapt lessons to meet the learning needs and age levels of students
- Introduce students to French language and culture through immersive experiences
- Maintain classroom organization and implement positive classroom management strategies
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff regarding student progress and participation
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support camp themes, special events, and educational activities
Qualifications
- Fluency in spoken and written French/Arabic
- Experience teaching or working with children preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Energetic, patient, and creative teaching style
- Ability to engage and manage small groups of students
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching French immersion or foreign language classes
- Experience working in camps, after-school programs, or enrichment programs
- Passion for multicultural education and language learning
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Work Environment
This position includes teaching in both classroom and camp environments with opportunities for interactive learning, themed activities, cultural enrichment, and hands-on experiences. Teachers should be prepared to actively engage with students throughout the day in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
