Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders at the counter, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Operate register system for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Prepare bagels and other food items efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Manage food handling responsibilities including stocking supplies, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in the food prep area.
- Follow all food industry regulations regarding sanitation, safety, and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service or fast food restaurants.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse customers.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while managing time efficiently.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and order totaling.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper kitchen procedures.
- Experience with cashiering, upselling techniques, and serving in a café or retail grocery store environment is highly desirable.
