TACK TRUCK DRIVER
M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is a premier Maryland commercial paving company specializing in asphalt paving, soil modification, and construction site development. We are looking for a reliable full-time professional Tack Truck Driver to join our team.
The Driver’s primary responsibility is to efficiently operate an asphalt distributor and maintain an acceptable level of workmanship to support the asphalt paving crews at various job sites including roadways, parking lots, and driveways throughout the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class B Driver’s license with tank endorsement
- Clean Driving Record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background check
- An emphasis on safety on and off the road
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip making sure the truck is in safe conditions
- Maintains telephone contact with the dispatch for instructions
- Maintains truck logs as required by the State, Federal, and Company policies and regulations
- Maintains the cleanliness and serviceability of assigned truck
- Ability to drive a manual transmission
- Ability to load tack truck
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area and emulsion distribution rates.
- Physical ability to operate distributor and to perform manual labor as needed, such as shoveling, or raking, under extreme temperatures and for extended hours of time.
- Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to drive up to 11 hours a day
- Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
- Talk and hear
- Lift and move up to 75 pounds
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Health Card)
EXPERIENCE:
- 1 years of Tack Truck experience preferred
