HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC
M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction firm located in Eldersburg, MD. We are searching for an experienced, committed, career-minded Heavy Diesel Mechanic to be part of our growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic test to discover functionality issues.
- Operate hand and power shop tools.
- Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Maintains an accurate schedule and legible record of equipment and vehicle maintenance logs and reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Follow all safety policies and use of proper PPE
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
- Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
- Heavy diesel mechanic experiences are a must
- Must be able to provide and use a good working set of mechanics tools
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift and move up to 75 pounds
- Stand for prolonged amounts of time
- Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Able to work from elevated platforms
SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:
- Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
- Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years’ experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
