What are the responsibilities and job description for the Second Shift Supervisor position at Lane Steel Co., Inc.?
Lane Steel Co., Inc. is growing and we are hiring a second shift warehouse supervisor for our steel service center in McKees Rocks, PA. This position covers the evening shift with a regular schedule of Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm. Mandatory overtime hours, when necessary, may go as late as 3:00am.
Pay is based on experience. Candidates must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience working in a heavy industrial environment, preferably working with steel products. Experience with safety compliance, progressive discipline, and production reporting is preferred.
Forklift and overhead crane experience are required.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing receiving and dispatching procedures for shipments
- Assigning workloads and daily tasks to warehouse staff
- Communicating with customers to answer shipping and receiving questions and troubleshoot problems
- Monitoring inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy
- Ensuring inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained
- Monitoring warehouse staff to ensure safety procedures are being followed
- Performing administrative tasks including managing staff attendance and discipline, ensuring all company policies and procedures are being followed, as well as distributing daily production reports and other reporting to upper management as necessary.
